'Despite what others may say, love is not something that only happens once in a lifetime.
Afterall, people fall in and out of love faster than you can say 'I do'. In fact, it's not
even rare for someone to find their soul-mates, because with billions of other people
sharing the same planet, there's bound to be someone that is not only like you, but likes
you as well. What is rare is for a couple to not only fall in love, but stay in love.'

Trunks shook his head and closed the book, heaving a heavy-hearted sigh. The words rang
true, but they weren't his words, and it wasn't the author trying to propose to LT, it was
him. Surrounded by crumpled balls of paper, each one a proposal more awful than the next, he
rose from his seat to go meet the love of his life at the park, beneath the soothing
blooms of the Sakura tree. It wasn't like he had the money to buy her a ring anyway, so he
pushed more bad poetry and corny phrases to the back of his mind, determined to have a good
time.

Like clockwork, she was already there, a gentle breeze caressing the blossoms from the branches,
tickling LT's cheek as they passed- She was asleep. Gently brushing one out of her hair,
Trunks leaned down to place a kiss on her cheek, grinning when her eyes fluttered open, her
ears perked and alert.

"Long day?" He asked, taking his place beside her, his arm draped around her shoulders.

"The longest." She replied, resting her head on his strong shoulder, completely content. It
was times like those that one could forget the troubles of the world and really live in the
moment, nothing to distract them from the one they loved. Trunks ran his fingers through her
hair, something that seemed to soothe her, even when she was spitting mad.

"I love you." He murmured, plucking a blade of grass and twirling it between his fingers,
something to distract his racing mind. What if she didn't-

"I love you, too." LT beamed, kissing his cheek in the gentle way that only she could, and
Trunks found it funny that such a simple thing could make him feel like the richest man on
Earth. Before he knew it, he found himself weaving a few more blades of grass together,
twisting and turning them, and once he had it the way he wanted, he turned and got on his
knees in front of her.

"Will you marry me?" In the palm of his hand was a braided grass ring, a tiny Sakura blossom
in the center. His face was flushed, his heart racing, watching the color of her cheeks
quickly redden.

"I know it isn't much..." He began, tearing his gaze from her to the little ring in the palm
of his hand, losing his nerve. Why was she still silent? When she took the ring from his hands,
he expected her to laugh, to frown at him, to refuse, to somehow do all of the above, but
instead, she slipped it onto her slender finger, tears in her eyes and a glow in her heart.

"It's everything." And beneath the branches of the Sakura tree, they sealed the proposal
with a tender kiss.
